Rambling Linguistically

 Hello there! Welcome. :)

This page is where I'll be posting some of my write-ups which include horror stories, poems (if I have any), and some other language assignments worth publishing. I will begin with my horror stories.

Hope you enjoy them. :D

My adorable doll Suzie...

The academic year had come to an end. It was time for the summer vacation. I was in a fantastic mood and was super excited to travel.

The first day of summer was spent packing our suitcases. My father had booked a flight to Malaysia. We were going to have a lot of amusement playing on the beaches. Enjoying the soothing sound of the ocean waves and relaxing. Dad had also booked a seaside hotel.

The 3rd day of the vacation was the day for the departure. It was an 8-hour flight to Malaysia.

I always used to sleep with my doll Suzie. She was the most adorable doll in the whole world. I had carried her to Malaysia too. I slept with her on the plane and played with her too. I loved her a lot.

Once we reached the Malaysian airport, we hired a cab to reach the seaside hotel. The hotel was opulent. We finally rested ourselves on the cozy bed in our room. We were very exhausted and so we decided to rest that day.

I took Suzie and started playing with her. I got Suzie recently on my birthday. My mom let me know that we can change her clothes too. I loved dressing up my dolls in fabulous clothes. I took out some clothes from my bag which I had got to play with Suzie. I started dressing up Suzie. My mom called out, “Sofia, your dad and I are going to roam around the hotel, you have fun with Suzie. We’ll come back soon! Buh-bye!”

I replied back, “Okay mom. Come soon.”

While I was dressing Suzie, I saw her wink. I thought my eyes just tricked me.

I stood up to bring a comb to comb her hair, and I turned back to see Suzie lying behind my legs. I wondered how she could move? Suddenly, a chill went up to my spine. I was having an intuition that there’s something wrong with Suzie.

Suzie slithered and came closer to me. More closer, even more closer, and - and………

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH……!

It was as if she was just waiting for me to get that intuition. My skin had turned pale. I started to get goosebumps all over my body. There was nobody to help me. Then- Then- Then…..

I tried hitting her with whatever I could get in the room. There was no impact on her.

She spoke in the spookiest voice, “I am Damien, little girl. You are not yet revealed to the deepest of truths. Your father was a serial killer. He murdered me when I was only 4. And now I am here to take revenge!”

I couldn’t scream for help. My voice had frozen. It felt like a horror story I was experiencing myself. Mom and Dad weren’t in the room.

Damien found a glass and threw it on my head. My head started to bleed. It kept on throwing things at me. I couldn’t think of anything I could do.

Damien was adorable but at that moment she looked like a killer. Mom entered the room humming. She was horrified when she saw Damien walking and throwing things.

There was a knife near the side table and I was trying my best to not let Damien have a peek of it. But Damien could get invisible and she came right behind me near the knife. She got hold of the knife and was just about to kill me when- When mom showed her a bright necklace with a cross on it. She knew that ghosts or souls can go away from showing the cross. Suddenly, Damien started to fade out. She had completely disappeared in moments. My head was hurting a lot from the bleeding. We waited for a minute to see if she was still there, but she had disappeared totally. My mom hugged me and kissed me. I was so relieved. My mom picked me up and rushed me to the reception to get medical help. I was admitted to a hospital nearby and once I recovered, I narrated the whole story to mom and dad.

This horrific incident was going to be a historical moment.

I never bought a doll again as I was too scared to experience this once again.

Still not buying a doll…. :p

Hope you liked the story. I am not so good at writing horror stories, and this story is revolving somewhere around Annabelle’s story which is cliche, but yeah, a good attempt for my first horror story.

Okay, so you've read my 1st horror story. Let's read another one. Hope you don't have goosebumps yet. :P I am ready to spook you! Boo!

New Neighbours

It was the month of August. My parents and I used to live alone in a flat with no neighbors. We received the news that we were going to have new neighbors shifting there that month.

The new neighbors shifted on 11th August. We did not even notice them shifting their stuff.

The three of us were excited to get some company in the apartment.

We never noticed the neighbors coming out of their flat or going in.

We wanted to see if they had shifted and also wanted to introduce ourselves to them. And so, we decided to meet them one night.

We rang the doorbell, nobody answered the door. We rang it twice, still, nobody answered the door. We stood there waiting for 2-3 minutes. They still did not open the door and we thought that they hadn't yet shifted. But little did we know that they had indeed shifted.

One week passed by and we kept on observing if there was somebody living in that house. We had no sign of the neighbors.

We lost hope that they had shifted.

One fine Sunday afternoon, our doorbell rang. My mom & dad were sleeping at that time but they too had woken up from the noise of the doorbell.

I rushed to the door and opened it to be greeted by a sweet little family.

There were 3 members of their family. Father, Mother, and daughter, just like ours. The daughter was wearing a cotton dress with patches of flowers all over it. Her father was wrapped up in a fine black coat with a tie-on his neck. His wife was a short lady with blue eyes and blonde hair. She was wearing a black dress with polka dots on it.

His father spoke in a polite manner, “Hola! I am Vernon Cally! This is my wife Petunia Cally and this is my 12-year-old daughter Milly Cally. We are your new neighbors! We had shifted one week ago, but we were busy shifting stuff so we did not come earlier to meet you guys.”

My father replied back, “Oh, nice to meet you. I am Robert Smith.”

My mom interrupted and introduced herself, “I am Emily Smith.”

I was the last person to introduce myself, “And I am Emma Smith. I study at Gilbert school. I am the same age as Milly.” I gave a bright smile and stopped.

My mom started conversing with Petunia aunty. My dad, and I suppose Vernon uncle too, got bored listening to the moms’ talks and started with their own chit chat. I was trying to get involved in any one conversation but couldn’t and as a result, I started talking with Milly. Milly had a very soft voice. I started off, “Hey Milly, which school do you study in?”

She replied, “Stanton school”.

“Great! Are you in the 7th grade, like me?”, I inquired.

“Yup.”

“Oh, that’s nice. We are the same age. Would you like to play with me?”

“No thanks, I am a bit busy with my school work.”

“Okay, no worries. How about we play tomorrow?”

“Umm… I will let you know.”

“Okay, fine”

Vernon uncle spoke loudly to grab our attention, “It was nice meeting you. Ah, I see our girls have become friends too. Good, good. Would you mind joining us for dinner tomorrow? Oh, you can also have a look at our house then.”

My mom and dad glanced at each other and dad said, “Oh, that would be great! Emma and Milly can play together too. What time should we join you guys?”

Petunia aunty  responded, “Will 7:30 work?”

Mom told, “Of course! Okay then, let us meet tomorrow?”

“Yes sure. Bye!”

The three of us said together, “Bye!”

After having this good conversation with our new neighbors, we were left with the impression that we would have a good time with them.

The next day, we got ready at 7 and rang their doorbell at 7:25. Milly answered the door. We greeted her and she asked us to come inside. We stepped inside and saw Petunia aunty and Vernon uncle. Their dining table was decorated lavishly. But the food was all non-vegetarian. Meat, steak, chicken, and more. We told them we were vegetarian and we didn’t eat all of this.

Petunia aunty said, “Oh don’t worry. This is our food, here is vegetarian food for you.”

The vegetarian food was on the right side of the table which we hadn’t noticed before.

We took a seat on the dining chairs. We ate the food delightfully and started talking to them. We were all full and couldn’t eat more.

Milly asked me to come to her room to play. I went with her to see a beautiful room decorated with crafts. I asked her if all those crafts were made by her and she said yes.

I adored her crafts while she placed a board game on her bed. The game was The Fury of Dracula. I had never heard that name before. And I didn’t even know if there are games like these.

She taught me how to play the game and we started to play.

I asked her the way to the washroom and she guided me. I used the washroom and once I had returned to her room, the room was no more the same. It had turned dark with glow in the dark lights forming a word. I read out the word and it said, vampire

I was shocked. At first, I thought she liked vampires and Dracula and all the spooky stuff. But then I noticed Milly in the room. She too had changed totally. Her nails were so lengthy. Her teeth were sharp. Her hair was dirty. She was wearing a cloak just like a vampire.

I said in a scared voice, “M-M-Milly, what is all this? Why are you dressed like a vampire? W-W-Why is the word vampire written on the walls?”

She spoke in a hoarse voice, “I am not an ordinary girl. I am a vampire. My whole family is a vampire family. We, vampires, are going to take over the world! All humans will be killed! You are next!”

I was aghast. I had no idea what must have happened to my parents. I tried running away when- when- when there were so many copies of Milly surrounding me in a circle. I had no way to escape.

“What shall I do? How shall I escape? What must have happened to mom and dad? Ohhhhhh, what to do? What to do?” My thoughts kept on running. I didn't know what to do.

Then I heard a loud scream and it was my mom. I gulped. What shall I do?!

What shall I do?!

Hope you enjoyed the first part of this story. Moving to the 2nd part.
Have a break, it's interval time. Haha!

There was utter silence all over the house. I could hear the sounds of blood dripping. Plop. Plop. My horror got to the next level. I was as still as an idol. "Ohh, what to do? What to do?" I kept on thinking. I was terrified. I did not know anything about vampires so that I could prevent them.

My father rushed inside frantically. He noticed Milly staring at us. He threw something at her. At first, I did not know what it was. Then he showed it high up in the air. It was garlic. He was stepping closer to Milly. I tried stopping him, but he continued moving. He threw me a look to follow him. I was scared but followed him. All was dark and we couldn't see Milly very clearly. Once we went very close to her, we noticed she was angry. My dad put the garlic near her nose. She was trying to avoid the odour of it. She wasn't liking it.

While dad was making her smell the garlic, a piece of a mirror came into my notice. A thought struck me suddenly. I remembered my grade 5 class discussing vampires and deadly beasts once. Somebody had mentioned that vampires hate sunlight and mirror the most. I quickly shoved my dad and showed the mirror to her. She was trying to run but dad blocked her. I asked dad to control her while I go and open the curtains. I opened the curtains. Bright sunlight vanished the darkness. Milly squelched. AAAAAAAAHHHHHH! She pushed us and ran outside the window. She was flying. Milly flew away, far away.

We watched her leave and gave a huge sigh of relief.

We rushed to check on mom. She was badly bleeding her arm. We took her to our flat and secured the wound with bandages. Now she was fine.

My dad told me that Milly's parents had also flown away because he had made them smell the garlic.

We all were so glad to be out of this mess.

All was going well when we got to know that- that- that... There are new neighbours coming to our apartment, again! NOOOOOOOOO...

Noooooooo! Ah!
Hope you liked the story. I will keep on coming up with more of my stories/poems if you like.

Hope you liked these written pieces from my side. I will keep on adding more. Until then, bye-bye!
